"Boggie on Reggie Woman" By Marcus Miller Woooo... Ben f (31/08/2005 22:00:32) James ive heard him many times, and im still not feeling him. to overated. not my cup of tea,but im not gonna knock other peoples taste. oh and its not stevie on the track...sory to dissapoint brother. god bless James (31/08/2005 14:50:18) There is a very exciting new artist from the UK called Nate James. His album 'Set The Tone' is fantastic. He is very very Stevie Wonder based - and I think he pulls it off! One of the tracks on the album is called 'I Dont Wanna Fight' and features a harmonica part. Now, it sounds like Stevie playing it, but there is no mention of Stevie in the credits. Do u know if it is Stevie playing on this track? Much appreciated. Mr. 1980 (31/08/2005 04:33:37) Kathy, The only songs I can think of from around that time period which fit your description would be one of the following: 1. "Summer Soft" - From "Songs in the Key of Life". This was a soft love song about the seasons. 2. "Black Orchid" - From "Secret Life of Plants". This was also a very soft love song from that period. 3. "As" - From "Songs in the Key of Life". This was about how much a woman meant to him, and there was mention of "seasons changing." Those are the only songs that come to mind. I hope that helps. tony (30/08/2005 20:46:58) Kathy it sounds like "Send One Your Love" which reached top 5 in the U.S and only top 60 in England.... Its on the album "Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants"......... Kathy O'Neil (30/08/2005 20:08:05) HI: In the winter of 1978,79,or 80 there was a song by stevie wonder that my hsuband and I heard only a few times it was a very soft love song and we can't remember the title, in the lyrics there was mention of seasons changing and he was saying how much the woman changed his life any help on the name of this song, I don't think it was a big hit I don't know why it was beautiful maybe it was a B side. Any help would be appreciated, thanks, cliff (30/08/2005 12:48:51) ..and Gladys Knight puts her stamp on it too. IMHO, simply one of the most naturally soulful voices -male or female - ever to be recorded! Abu Lo (30/08/2005 06:26:14) ...But you had two of the best matched voices of such quality since Marvin and Tammi. Dave B (29/08/2005 16:53:29) "That's what friends are for" - never liked that song in spite of the fact that Stevie participated. Oh well... Dave B Cliff (28/08/2005 21:36:40) Helen, 'That's what friends are for' was primarily Dionne Warwick's vehicle and she invited Steve to participate (remember, she owed him big for her spots on 'Woman in Red'). The song itself appears on Dionne's album 'Friends', and was written and produced by Carole Bayer Sager and (this I may not remember correctly) Burt Bacharach. For some reason, two videos were shot: one with Stevie sitting, and the other with him standing - the latter is better. Anyway, this is definitely one of Steve's seminal guest vocals! Helen (28/08/2005 16:52:07) Did Stevie Wonder produce his own album with the song, "That's What Friends Are For" ? Dave B (25/08/2005 16:59:00) Hey Y'all! Steverino is going to perform for the Sky Show Fri Oct 7. This show will be broadcast on the Tom Joyner Morning Show on that day if I am correct. Check your radio listings for the time of the broadcast in your region. Just looking for some chords/tabs for ordinary pain and joy inside my tears. No one seems to have them. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks jason Abu Lo (21/08/2005 11:04:16) Mr. 1980, tks for commin back at me. I you look at all the album covers between 1970 and 1980 you'll find Ira's name somewhere. Who is he? Where to start... Many years ago when Stevie learned to play Hammond organ, it was Ira's father who taught him, if I'm not mistaken. Years later, Stevie was in a bad car accident. He was in a coma. Ira, along with members of Stevie's family, was there every day. As it happens, Ira used to sing... one day, I'm told, while he was singing.. please don't go, no no no, if you go, I'll be sad and blue, ...etc. Stevie came out of the coma. Who is he? As far as I know he is Stevie's "Publicist". I saw his name recently in a newspaper article. I think Tuck is the greatest SW fan ever. He is never far away. Thanks man, I need this. -Abu Mr. 1980 (20/08/2005 21:53:25) Abu Lo, Who is Ira (Gramp) Tucker?? I'm afraid I cannot help you contact him since I've never heard of him. Please fill me in. Thanks. -Mr. 1980 Abu Lo (20/08/2005 12:23:08) Seem like I'll never get this quite right. I thought I was talking to Mr. 1980 only to find out I was on something else. Once again, again, Mr. 1980: Stevie and I have a parallel history and we did meet in 77 in Nigeria. His music has played a significant role in my life from The Masqurade is Over, to The Secret Life of Plants. But I can't get into that yet because an intragal part of the connection is missing, and that is Ira (Gramp) Tucker. I need to get in tuch with him before I go on. This is important. I need his e-address or I need him to have mine. Will you please do something to help? I am not in the US. I am very far away. Otherwise I would just fly back to Philly and ask the family, but I can't do that...or is this a vision in my mind... Dave B (19/08/2005 14:54:19) Webmaster! Now they're there! This is strange! Dave B (19/08/2005 14:53:15) Yo Webmaster! I just posted some comments and now they're gone! What happened? Yes I hit the Submit button and yes they did show up on the forum but now they're gone! What happened? Dave B (19/08/2005 14:47:27) Vic and Mr. 1980! The thing that is a drag about the unreleased material is that it is probable that the majority of the songs are "incomplete". He may have laid down the keyboard and vocal tracks and nothing else. The problem is that once Steverino is gone who can come in and complete them? Stevie's syle and composing is his alone! Once he's gone I don't believe that some recording studio geek can go in and finish those songs melodically and then begin the process of mixing and mastering the cuts. In other words many if not all of those songs will NEVER be released to the public! Obviously I don't know just how far along those songs are but I just have this sense that there's still plenty of work to be done to them for release and that this work can only be completed by Steverino alone. What's your takes on this? Later, Summer Soft Dave B |
