I have also never heard SSD by Blue gonna check that too... I have been really digging into the R&B archives lately. The music is sooooo goood! I can't stop playing it all.... Even groups that hardly anyone remembers like The Moments & The Main Ingredient and More popular were The Dells, The Delfonics, The Emotions, now they had a hit in the 60's that my mother used to play. I didn't even know that was them. The songs name escapes me right now but I do remember the record label was a wine or brown color... sumthin' like that lol... Jerry Butler, Solomon Burke, Joe Tex. lol... he was funny... The Originals, Lou Rawles, Gene Chandler, and some others lol... I guess that's a lot... My favorite Old song of Stevies is Fangatips lol.. jk Fingertips "Everybody say Yeah!" i just love that song! I am playing the Jackson 5's song Walk On. It is one of my fav's from them as well as can you remember. It is a very sweet song. I always loved that one. ok i'm out... will be checkin in :o) DELICE (08/06/2005 18:30) i think stevie is right kicking somone that is down isn't a nice thing plus personaly i like micheal Jackson and i think he's inncocent the media a5re just trying to get money out of him just beacuse he's rich and black plase e-mail me bk i'd love to hear from you xxx delice Denise (08/06/2005 18:53) I think Stevie Wonder is right Emmminem is good but when you kick somone that is down is a horrible thing to do and personally i like micheal JACKSON AND I THINK HE'S INOCCENT THE MEDIA ARE JUST TRYING TO GET MONEY [SORRY ABOUT THE CAPITAL LETTERS] David Harrison Levi (07/06/2005 06:13) The Michael Jackson Trial Author: David Harrison Levi Good Evening Everyone; Michael IS a close friend and client of my business' here in Beverly Hills. I have known the Jackson's since 1976 and I know them as hard working, loving and genuinely true and honest people. Its hard to stand by and watch someone as kind and as giving as MJ to be persecuted in this nightmare, this sham they call a trial. I am aware of the accusers from 1993. I was privy to knowing most in the trial by my galleries' in Beverly Hills, as everyone shopped there. David Levi's TV and Motion Picture Prop Galleries' on Beverly Drive. It is sad but a reality that money can influence those to lie and deceive for financial gain. I am saddened that the Michael I know is burdened by the accusations and hatred set forth here by the prosecution. The evidence so far as I see it has been here say. The jury now, has the tough job ahead to convict the pop singer. There is no doubt that Michael is bizarre in nature. That his childlike thinking is misunderstood. Did he have sleep overs? YES! Do I believe there was child molestation? NO! I am not saying that the facts presented in trial are all a lie, but how are we to know the real truth. The family accusing MJ are NOT believable and have been proven to find themselves receiving monies before for other type cases prior to Jackson. Its not illegal to be poor, to be a cancer victim or to cling on to those around you who You believe truly cares about You, your family and its well being. I will never understand how so many unproven facts and statements made by the prosecution, seem to be the foundation to which this trial was concocted. I send my prayers and very best wishes to Michael , his family and the throngs of fans worldwide. MJ will be found innocent and not guilty on all accounts. I have established the David Levi CELEBRITY NEWS NETWORK message forum and should You want Michael to receive your well wishes and support; please visit http://www.voy.com/195286/ Please join me in continuing your support for Michael as we await the final verdict by the court jurors. These are troubling times for all involved and I wish those it affects, all the peace and comfort knowing, that it will all come to a happy closure for Michael Jackson. I heard it... *looks puzzled* Uhhh, he's a good singer with good songs but, I don't think anyone shoud ... well...., putting it nicely.. Prince has his fingerprints on that and it should stay that way... What do you think about it? Lena *hmmmm,,, itz me lol* (04/06/2005 07:28) Hey Karlee Your funny comment was sumthin' about piglet. It was funny because I used to live in the country and we had cute lil sqeelin piglets that I played with until I learned that wuz where the breakfast bacon wuz cumin from. *looks crazy* ummm hmmm.. My favorite Ojays song is not very well know. I think it should be tho. Its really good. It's called How Lucky I Am. I like how mellow it iz. I am tonite listening to India Arie and I am desperately looking for a Barry White song that has the lines Sho you right in it. It is a sexy sultry ballad. However, the song that has the title Sho you right... is not the same song. That was too uptempo. *sigh* it's frustrating me 'cause I really want to hear it. My favorite Isley Bros song is not very well known. It is called How Lucky I Am. It's a very sweet song. Very mellow. Aisha looks just like her Dad for sure and Kailand does too. What is that song you are listening to by the Temps. I never heard that song. Sounds interesting. I am branching out a little into some country music today. I like Randy Travis and Dolly Parton a lot. My 2 fav. country singers. But not listening to any songs in particular. Okay Karlee... I'm out... will be checking in to see what cha doin' *big smile* caio bella! geturfunkyself2getha (02/06/2005 07:03) i do say some random stuff.....i think its just soomething to do with sexual tension or some crap like that for me anyway cos i like male singers and im a girl....but i do love whitney houston right now im listenin to her song i have nothing......indeedy hollerin doe sget old quick lol a seasoning for the song......wat was my funny comment cos i dunno? lol......i love the Ojays even though ive onyl heard a few of their songs ive been meanin to get one of their albums ever since i heard them like a yr ago in the movie the fighting temptaions with cuba gooding jr (i love him) and beyonce' yeah that was the first time i heard the Ojays abd since then ive downloaded a couple of their songs....i cant remember which isley brothers song it is im thinking of but i love it i remember as a kid i loved it i still do but i havent listened to them for am age......yeah i taped that oprah episode twice cos it was on twice im a fruitloop....aisha looks so much like him her eyes r really pretty and they look like his same as his youngest son kylan him stevie and aisha look so much the same....his kids r all soooo god lookin......Aisha has a really nice voice hey its beautiful.......natural wonder is awesome i love it in parts of living for the city cos he sounds sexy when he says bits in it bvut i think we already discussed this ages ago wen we first started talkin to eachother.....how cute i love that song too we have somethin in common she sounds so adorable wats her name? wats ur name? im listenin to its growning by the temptations and im off catch ya later hmmmm.... (01/06/2005 08:30) Karlee LOL... you have a great way of making me laugh.... UR hilarious!!!! I enjoy male singers much more as well. I don't know why but they seem more soothing perhaps? Not sure what it is but I do agree with you. I don't like tooo much hollerin' in the songs... It gets old quick! It should be like a seasoning for the song. Not the whole song or album... LOL again... oh boy heehee... You really made me laugh today Karlee.... it caught me by surprise (your funny comment). *smile* thanks. I have been listening to the Isley Bros and The Ojays today and I always listen to MJ & Stevie. I really Love What The Fuss! I just love it. I am listening to it now. Where do you download music from, like what website? Yeah I saw Stevie on Oprah too. I liked when he sung with his daughter Aisha. She's a good singer too. I wish I had that on video. I didn't tape it. My favorite Stevie Wonder album is Natural Wonder. I love that album so much. I love the way he performs ribbon in the sky and higher ground on that album. I play them over and over. I am also enjoying MJ's new boxed set. cd #4 is the one I play the most. We have a baby in our family and when she comes to visit, as soon as she comes in she says "Beautiful Girl... where are you" lol... That is her way of asking me to play that song. If you don't she won't stop asking and she wants it on repeat. lol... She can sing it all the way thru. It's adorable. I love cd 4 for all of the soothing love songs. I also love In the Back a whole lot. It's awesome. Off Like a dirty shirt lolllllllllll Karlee! ur funny! *imagines dirty smelly shirt* lol.... yeah off with the dirty shirt.... hee hee... BTW... my name is Lena. It is short for my middle name which i do not like so don't even ask lol... I told my mother there is no one in the world with that name... geez... Lena is cool tho. I would love some haggen daz chocolate ice cream on a sugar cone right about now.... I don't hav nun.... *cries* ok I will check in with you. Will let you know what I am listnening to. If you listen to something good let me know and if you find something on anthology that you like let me know so I can hear. k. *waves* Til' nex tym... *smiles at you* Lena.... geturfunkyself2getha (31/05/2005 09:28) haha no nota at all.......it always happens like that i was looking to see if the dvd was anywhere i didnt think it was made on dvd cos its old but one day wen i was lookin 4 somethin else it popped up so i bought that was a week or 2 ago..........soul anthology is EMI records.......i no stax yep booker T & the MG's that would be an awesome cd to have ey....Dusty Springfield has been around for ages she was around when Stevie was only 15 a long time ago....i have a copy of Peabo Bryson and a lady i cant remember her name singing a whole new world from Aladdin they both have amazing voices but i like his better i think its cos he's a guy and im a girl who knows but i always seem to like male singers better.....yes we can work it was by the beatles first but i reckon Stevie's version is sooooo much btter great energy to it i love it.....hey lauren hill doo woop that thing is on Vh1 right now............yeah i no they always have great energy to their music and theres such a variety....yeah to me Mariah's stuff all sounds the same thats why i dont really like her but she does have a nice voice except for the squeling she sounds like a piglet..........i went to school on monday and a few people came up to me goin have u heard stevie's new song (cos everyone in my year knows i absolutely love him and am obsessed) they sed that they had seen his video clip on the weekend and that the clips pretty good....i sed ive heard his song but only wen he sung on that oprah show last year and i downloaded it last week but i havent heard it like on the radio or seen the video clip etc it so unfair.........oh and my name is karlee so u dont have to call me geturfunkyself2getha if u dont wanna....whats ur name? it dont matter if u dont wanna say..... |goodnight cya......im off like a dirty shirt....chow hmmmm.... (30/05/2005 11:56) *smiles* Yes, I saw your slip of the tongue. I wasn't going to say anything but I did get quite a laugh out of it..... hope you don't mind... :o) I am still trying to get my hands on PIP. If I were not looking for it,it would be right in front of me lol.... Soul Anthology, I can't find it. What label is it? I would like to have it. I am also looking for a Stax (record label) CD. They had great artists like Otis Redding of course, but also The Emotions, Isaac Hayes, Carla and Rufus Thomas, Al Green, Booker T ( & I think the MG's), Sam & Dave, Eddie Floyd, The Soul Children, Wilson Pickett, The Dramatics, & The Staple Singers...etc. That would be an awesome CD. Some of the names on the Anthology CD I recognise from the 80's but I don't remember what they sang. Like Neenah Cherry & Dusty Springfield (that may be late late 70"'s? not sure tho. Maybe I am thinking Rick Springfield. hmmmm.... Peabo Bryson had a great album in the late 70's. We can work it out was by the Beatles first? Wow... Stevies version is awesome. Wonderful energy to it. All of his music has great energy and it's always different. MJ too. They are truly unique even among the greatest artists. Like we were talking about Mariah, yes, I agree with you about her singing. It's amazing how no matter how great they are and how many octives they have or however wide their range or whatever, most artists songs sound very similar time after time. MJ & Stevie can and do change. It's amazing. OK I'm gonna go look into the staxx thing. Don't forget to look up the anthology label for me, thanks... Getting a bit sleepy now. Nitey nite geturfunkyself2gether. Will be back.... geturfunkyself2getha (29/05/2005 10:43) haha i meant bobby womack not booby womack...woops geturfunkyself2gether (28/05/2005 03:53) haha otis is the bomb truly...a couple of my mates r coming ova 2morro 2 watch my new dvd of pretty in pink (im an obsessed loser)....SOUL ANTHOLOGY a retrospective of smooth n' funky soul grooves...its got booby womack.. Ike & Tina turner..candi staton..chuck woods..ray pollard..mitch ryder & the detroit wheels..bobby sheen..irma thomas..tounge 'n' cheek..freddie jackson..dusty springfield..neneh cherry..D'angelo..peabo byson (i love his voice so much)..isaac hayes and charles & eddie are some people who r on it, i havent heard of many of the people on it but i have heard of several on it....i dont really know much rage agaisnt the machine i think i no one song but i cant remember it..i no bob marley gets stacks of his songs covered by people...ok i never knew the beatles covered some of his songs but i do now...stevie covered the beatles song we can work it out and i like stevies version better sorry to the beatles but stevie made it funky and soulful and thats the music i like (stevie also played all the instruments on the record and he was only young too but i cant remember how young)......i dont think ive heard MJ's version of come together but it is one of m fave beatles song possibly my favourite...... a song i really love ive had 4 a while now but dunno if i have told u about it already is you dropped the bomb on me by the gapp band its awesome...i dunno ill have 2 have a listen to it (could u be loved) and get back 2 u with it.......i still have to get back 2 u with other stuff too but im too lazy but i will get around to it eventually..... later hmmmm.... (23/05/2005 21:31) geturfunkyself2getha Oh, BTW.. I forgot to ask you this. I can't really get the full meaning of Bob Marleys Could you be loved. The story line confuses me. Is it one story or many scenarios? *looks confused* lol* hmmmm.... (23/05/2005 21:05) I'm still playing Otis too. :o) I never ever get tired of him. I am listening to the same songs as you. Yup! I did see pretty in pink :o) but I will have to watch it again. I want to refresh my memory of which part you are talking about. It's been a long time since I have seen it. I am going to look for the soul anthology cd. who is on it? I am out of the Rage Against The Machine mood. I read the lyrics over the weekend and they are a bit harsh for me and most of the time I have no idea what they are talking about anywayz ...but geez... I didn't realize they were saying all of that stuff... lol. I am usually listening to the music and the tones of their voices going with the music. So many of Bob Marleys songs were redone. The listening audience hears the songs like I shot the sheriff by Clapton and knows that it was Bob Marleys but I did not know that the Beatles had covered some of his songs! Wow! They covered so many African American singers music but to see who and what is amazing. The more I look into everything the more fascinating the details get. I think that MJ's version of Come Together is much much better than the Beatles. I really really like the way he did that and love his performance of it as well. Awesome. Do you know if Stevie and the Beatles sing any of the same songs? If so let me know. Ok gonna go get some chocolate chip cookies and some milk lol.... let me know what you find on your new cd that you like. I will look for those songs if I can't find the cd k. .... :o) geturfunkyself2getha (23/05/2005 07:44) hahahaha.....i have been listenin to try a little tenderness (because of pretty in pink) these arms of mine and thats what my heart needs non stop 4 about 3 weeks now....ok catch u later ps i bought a mad cd yesterday for $10 which is cheap here its a double disc called soul anthology and its all funk soul hmmmm.... (22/05/2005 07:19) getyourfunkyself2gether Okay.... you've done it now Lol... I am going to listen to Otis AlllllllNightLonnngggg.... *laughing at myself* I LoVe Otis Redding.... I downloaded the songs you did and played them too.... I wonder if Stevie ever worked with him hmmmmmm....... Good question.... Do you know?I Will leave a post tomorrow and a lil bit of trivia I collected today... Gotta go play Otis while I sleep Lol... Nitey Nite and sweet dreams..... :o) .....ZZZzzzzz getyourfunkyself2gether (22/05/2005 00:26) hmhmhmhmhmhmhmmmm i love otis he sings heaps of loves songs and it sounds like every single one he sings he's experienced whatever its about before i also love his song thats what my heart needs...these arms of mine is so makes you wish he was singin it 2 u awww....lol......have u seen pretty in pink? i love the part where duckie comes in the record store dancin and starts miming to try a little tenderness which i playin in the shop duckie is so cute i love him im really obsessed with the movie right now even though ive seen it b4 ive been watchin it over and over again especially that part in the record store lol.......i havent heard i just cant stop lovin u 4 ages im gonna have to have a listen.....yeah i no wat u mean bout MJ and Prince i saw Prince doin i could never take the place of your man live and it was so good i love that song.....lol.... inside feel like I am drifting into heaven (still alive of course lol).... i liked this u sed.......is minnie ripperton the black lady with the really high voice ok i just read the part how u sed she had an amazingly high voice so i guess it is her did u know maya from SNL is her daughter? lol he prob does our nearly does have the 5 octive range mariah does 4 sure but she doesnt always use it good it sounds like she's squealing alot to me i dont like her heaps but shes alright but thats my opinion.....i do that to i get lost in the music and start talkin bout all this stuff and nobody else knows what im goin on about.....lol....but i know what ur talkin about...lol....yeah yeah the piano in these arms of mine does sound like its used heaps of songs especially the older ones but its really really nice piano playin its so nice and loving etc i love it so much......ok ill download these songs and have a listen im gonna have to think of songs 4 u to listen to but i will get back 2 u with those......right now im downloading...bob marley turn your lights dwon low could you be loved and redemption song (which stevie has redone) live at pittsburg which was his first public performance...changes live david bowie its so good live iheard it on music max and heroes by david bowie he was so skinny in the video clip of heroes his legs were skinny as........ hmmmm.... (21/05/2005 20:43) geturfunkyself2gether If you can, listen to these 2 songs and tell me what you think. The first is Know Your Enemy.... It is reminding me of a song called Monster something by like some rock band of the 70's and I can't think of who it is. I don't know if you listen to 70's rock tho. Also Rage's People of The Sun. I really like it but to me it sounds like they could have picked up the tempo just a lil bit. It feels like it drags a little. What do you think? ;o) Where ya At! lol... Hmmm... (16/05/2005 05:53) geturfunkyself2gether..... One last thing.... listen to the piano in These arms of mine. How many songs do you think play those same notes or slight variations of those same notes(that's a rhetorical question lol) I think lots of them. I hear it all the time espcially in the older songs.... Hmmm... (16/05/2005 05:08) OMGoodness... there is so much music that I have never heard. I am playing them on Musicmatch.... I inside feel like I am drifting into heaven (still alive of course lol).... It's hard for me to even believe that Minnie Rippertons voice isn't some angel calling down to earth from heaven. She had an amazingly high voice. I love the songs Loving You as well as Love And It's Glory. I wonder if it is possible for someone to have more than a 5 octive range. If so I'll bet Michael has it. I heard that Mariah has a 5 octive range as well. ok lol I'm done for right now .... I left lots... got lost in the music so to speak.... Hmmm... (16/05/2005 05:34) He is an excellent and extremely talented artist. He doesn't really get into the tender side that much. I am not comparing him to MJ because that's not nice but I will use Michaels songs as an example to try and explain what I mean. For instance MJ can go from I just can't stop loving you, especially the version that has dialog at the beginning that is very tender and will melt your heart in a split second.... to In The Closet which is Very sexy...to Dangerous... which is well,, Dangerous and exciting lol...and the dangerous performance is awesome. You can't limit Michaels music or Stevies. They touch everyone. Prince is different in his own way. He is an excellent artist however I haven't heard him sing that large range of emotions that encompasses Everything that we feel . So Although I will say on his new cd he seems to be leaning towards more loving songs so he may be venturing out. And he speaks mostly to a certain demographic group. However I am only speaking for the Prince albums that I have heard. I haven't heard them all. Only 3 or 4 maybe. Let's see 1999 purple rain and the new one. That's it. I have heard some songs on the raido like cream but I don't know anything about the albums. So maybe I am not correct. I am only speaking for his material that I have heard. But he is a great artist. Wonderful material that is certainly timeless. Hmmm... (16/05/2005 05:36) LOL at you ----->......haha i cant answer ur question either it depends on my modd too so i guess i just shot ur question aswell....lol....Ur FuNnY..... And I didn't even think of this ---> Otis sung Respect first not Aretha..................... Whoa! haha... I liked that trivia as well and OMG OtIs ReDdInG singin' Rock Me Baby... it's not a girls song but a girl can like it. I love that song! And I really love the way he sings For Your Precious Love ummmm hmmmm... I like it, These Arms Of Mine.... I am playing that now.. I love that song It's sooo sweet, loving, and kind. My kind of song. Yes, I do feel Marvin in Heard It Through The Grapevine and all of his songs. He has a certain smoothness about his way of singing and it went well with his performances. And Prince, I did not forget him. geturfunkyself2gether (15/05/2005 09:16) see look my brain cant even cope i just wrote blah blah blah...understand wat i WRITE? now wats that i meant to write wrote not write now thats confusing write wrote write etc.bye geturfunkyself2getha (15/05/2005 09:29) haha yeah hey i checked over here if it was out yet but its still not out and it still keeps gettin delayed grrrrrrrrrr......hehe they do both have gruffness in their voices hey and they have alot of feelin and emotion in their voices too like when u listen to try me then say it loud im black and im proud and then these arms of mine and then try a little tenderness i love how they just sound so different......haha i cant answer ur question either it depends on my modd too so i guess i just shot ur question aswell....lol....i think James sung it first but Otis sung Respect first not Aretha..................... i love readin comments n then tellin u how much i liked it and tellin u which one it is and i love it wen u do it 2 cos i just read over it myself and say geez that sounds smart or im a nutcase or just wat the hell was goin on about......yeah my friend katelyn always says "SHUT YOUR WHOLE WANG CHUNG" and i always wondered were she got it from hhmmmmmm maybe i shouldve just asked her derrrrr well anyway it from the movie not another team they say something blah blah WANG CHUNG so yeah i stole it......lol car brakes u always have really some really good calls and funny stuff 2 say i love it.......lol........nah i agree too they r alone in their category its just marvin has great music too but just not like theirs.....nah nah nah lol.... i dont misunderstand u i agree with u...lol........yeah i know what u mean they completely transform and i love them for it u really feel their emotion especially stevie i think.....but u can really feel marvin in i heard it through the grape vine do u reckon? im soooo confusing myself i hope im not confusiong u......yeah u can really feel the energy they create........also u cant forget prince he is so much better live he is a great performer he has a lot of sexual energy and hes so so so small.lol....... well then i guess its time do go i hope ur brain doesnt hurt after reading and tryin to understand wat i just write i mean i hardly understand it.....lol |
