Echolover (12/04/2005 01:36) Stevie is right. We know MJ has his problems and has had them for some time. Eminem publishes his business to keep us from getting to him first. Eminem has not earned the right to bash anyone until he learns to respect everyone. Andy robe (10/04/2005 18:04) Stevies right, Always remember, Stevies for peace, Emenem for Guns and distruction. Mark Hurley (08/04/2005 22:17) "Kicking someone when he is down is not a good thing." -If that's Stevie's opinion, it's true. Stevie Wonder knows all. He is the greatest. I hate Eminem. 2Pac is better. Trilogy (07/04/2005 20:54) Ok this is my first so stevie is devirginizing me on the chat scene. Look you all don't know what your talking about on this forum. This is about the Michael eminem incident . The fact is eminem is trailor trash who doesn't have ahigh moral standard. or any standard whatsoever. if it has a hole it is good to him mentality. Therefore he has no sense or judgement. He doesn't have any tact. He is tacky! This is the fact of the matter. So when it comes to him he is kitchy something amusing that has no real purpose. geturfunkyself2getha (05/04/2005 11:59) HEY HI ITS A FORUM FOR " STEVIE WONDER BASHES EMINEM FOR MICHAEL JACKSON CRITICISM " BUT EVERYONE JUST TALKS 2 EACHOTHER......I DIDNT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE EMINEM STEVIE MICHAEL THING UNTIL I ACCIDENTLY CAME UPON THIS SITE..........SO WATS HAPPENING hi (04/04/2005 22:45) is any one going to tell me whats going on? hi (04/04/2005 22:25) what is this place is this where people talk to other people? geturfunkyself2getha (29/03/2005 10:39) hey hmmmm.... long time no speak sorry i took so long our computer stuffed up then i couldn't be bothered with it for a while it was annoying me.........but i'm glad your still here....i love it when i find people who like the same music i like, sorry but can i just ask if you r black or white u dont have to answer its just i love black culture i listen to black music read afro american history i watch the movies i love spike lee i have do the right thing out now but i havent watched it yet anyway.......how old r u (u dont have to answer either) cos no one my age seems to like the music i like im 17 r u close to my age? 2 yrs old and already appreciating good music thats what i like to hear lol......youve seen everyone in concert i wanna see i swear i was born in the wrong era but i no i aint as stevie sings in as “...you can bet your life times that and twice its double That God knew exactly where he wanted you to be placed..."............... i aint mad i didnt even pick one i listed about 10 of his songs (sorry theres too many)....ill have to download what do u want me to do...i know im gonna like it........ im from AUSTRALIA i wish i could say i respect everyones opinions i dunno if i do but i hate when someone says something bad about stevie or other great musicians cos i love em so much and other people cant appreciate them the way i do and i dont see why so it makes me angry....i dont have a fave song i have a fave song for every artist i love and then random songs from other artsist theres way too many to name..........ive never heard any ofsyreeta's songs but ive heard her sing background....geez she was a good writer cos she co wrote heaps of stevie's songs on music of my mind didnt she? and thats my fave albums along with fullfillingess....i love if you really love me im so glad they wrote that song it makes me happy.......i downloaded nothing from nothing by bill preston just the other day how funny..........haha u found ur cd im sitting here smiling as im writing this cos im happy for u.....i love u havent done nothing the do do wop by the jacksons in the background i love it when stevie sings " real life " and "your self " it sounds so good how he singin then brings it back up high for those bits..makes ya go weak at the knees. its sexy ooh yeah.....i love they wont go when i go definitely right up there one of my faves i l isten to it everynight i really get into and it really moves me....i love in aint no use at the start the humming bit i love it so much i could listen to it all day its so calming and sexy same as the end when he goes so long baby bye bye baby bbbbbrrrr........... i hope to hear new stuff from michael cos i really loved you rock my world that song was funky if hes got more of that up his sleeve bring it on woooooo..........i know i reckon its goin really well for him its just showing he is al guy....i reckon he'll make it through...........ive only seen stevie perform whats the fuss and that song with... troo_gurl (26/03/2005 12:48) i think that it was very right for stevie to step in and say something,i agree michael jackson doesnt deserve anything like that being pushed in his face when he is already going through enough at the moment.it wasnt even funny!! and i will be preying everyday for him to be free and live happy just like he has made my life when i listen to his music, i love him..and i beleive in him!! =D Go MJ!! hmmmm.... If you're shy you're shy even when you are alone. Hmmm... I guess I just learned something .... I like the second one. Speaking of shy l like the song Too Shy To Say and They won't go When I go. Hey looks like Michael Jackson is going to be making some new songs for us? Maybe? That would be awesome. I say that because I am looking forward to his Victory Walk right out of that court room... Yup! Won't be long now.... I just keep praying. I hope you do too! It's inevitable. It's ironic that the only thing TS could prove after all this hoopla is that Michael is unquestionably a very normal heterosexual male. It's almost like TS turned his own weapon on himself. And MJ is looking handsome and confident! Yup Go MJ! Have you heard any of Stevies new songs yet? Everyone is talking about his new album. I have only heard a few songs. I love the one he sings with Aisha. And another one that is about love. I can't recall the name of it though. But it's beautiful. Well, I am going to listen to some music now. I'll look forward to hearing from you... For next time... What is your favorite Michael Jackson song ~ or songs.... and who else do you like? geturfunkyself2getha (23/03/2005 05:49) jey hmmmm.... hey i forgot i also love 1999 and cream David Harrison Levi (15/03/2005 16:59) Part 3 For me, I say NO! They were last heard to be playing "Nearer, My God, To Thee", a song Hartley had always said he would choose for his own funeral. At 12:25 AM, the order is given to start loading the lifeboats, women and children first. The boats were filled and lowered, sometimes with less than half their rated capacity. The last boat was launched by 2:05 AM, as the Titanics tilt becomes much steeper. At 2:17 AM the stern began to lift clear of the water. One minute later a huge roar was heard, and everything crashed toward the bow of the ship. The lights blinked once and went out. At 2:20 AM the Titanic silently slid to the ocean floor 13,000 feet below. Two hours later the Carpathian picked up the first lifeboat. At 5:30 AM the Californian finally hears of the disaster and moves to help, but arrives just as the last boat is pulled form the water. At 8:50 AM the Carpathia sets sail for New York with 705 survivors, leaving the search for additional survivors to the other ships. My Dearest Friends; I heard this morning in an interview on CNN the opening of exhibits in the United States later this month in Las Vegas at The Tropicana Hotel & Casino, and later in other states. First let me say, I have been a major contributor to the entertainment industry, in the buying and selling of high end "movie related memorabilia." I find it very offensive that it goes unopposed that a company can gather up personal belongings and maybe even worse the 15 ton piece of wreckage from this life taking and most tragic aquatic event in world history. I feel it insulting and condescending, that anyone can and should make money from so eventful and tragic from this horrific historical time. I thought the many books and articles written on the subject of the sinking and the movie made, were in good taste and very well presented. But I think, people fail to remember, or realize the reality or the carnage that happened aboard this most magnificent ship. The thousands of families and friends this were affected, who had loved ones, both young and old, who died in the freezing waters in the early morning fog. I resent the money making (no matter how glamorous the presentation seems) off the hundreds of lives left for dead in the cold icy waters and upon the ocean floor .There are questions to me that arise. What "IF" someone wanted to place mementos or windows, doors, elevator doors, personal belongings from 9/11 The Twin Towers N.Y. or, other airplane, train or motoring accident? Would You display Princess Diana Mercedes or President John F. Kennedy's Continental Limousine. Ask Yourselves' what IS what IS NOT acceptable behavior and DO we have the right to make tragic events no matter how romantic, they may seem, a money venture off those who gave their lives, in these most horrific and tragic historical events. For me, I say NO! My gallery in Beverly Hills went... David Harrison Levi (15/03/2005 16:06) "Deeply regret advise you Titanic sank this morning, after collision with iceberg, resulting in serious loss of life. Full particulars later." This was the message sent to the White Star Lines New York office from the Carpathia, as she started to New York with the survivors of the Titanic Shipwreck. The story of the Titanic starts berth 44, in Southampton, England. After four days of hiring crew members, loading supplies and making the final inspections, passengers started boarding on the morning of April 10. By noon, tugs pull the Titanic into open water for the start of her maiden voyage. She proceeds to Cherbourg, France and then to Queenstown, Ireland to pick up additional passengers. April 11, 1912 started with an emergency rehearsal with alarm bells and a gradual descent of the watertight doors. With the final passengers on board, the anchor is raised at 1:30 pm and the Titanic heads to sea with 2,227 passengers and crew. The ship performs beautifully, found to be extremely stable. Congratulations pour in by radio from other ships, often with warnings of icebergs ahead. For the next three days the weather is beautiful and the sea calm. Ice warnings continue to come in on the radio. At 6 pm on April 14, the course of the Titanic is shifted slightly south, and the speed continues to increase. All through the evening ice warnings come in on the radio, but many are not relayed to the Captain. At 10 pm the Californian is stopped in heavy ice and sends out warnings. The radioman on the Titanic tells the Californian wireless officer to "Keep Out! Shut Up! You’re jamming my signal." and so the Californian shuts down its radio for the night. At 11:30 pm lookouts see a slight haze ahead, and ten minutes later signal the bridge: "large iceberg dead ahead". The First Officer orders "Hard-a-starboard". All engines are stopped and then ordered full reverse. The watertight doors are also ordered closed. Titanic veers to port, but too late. An underwater spar rips a 300-foot hole, opening five forward compartments to the sea. A quick inspection reveals the unthinkable: Titanic is sinking. The distress call is sent out. Shortly after midnight, the lifeboats are ordered uncovered, but there is only room for 1178 people if the boats are filled to capacity. Signal rockets are fired. Several ships hear the distress call and change course to help. The closest, the Carpathian, is 58 miles away. The Californian is actually within sight of the signal rockets, but with the radio off for the night assumes the ship in the distance is a tramp steamer and continues on. (15/03/2005 05:01) geturfunkyself2getha... we like the same artists and music. That's fun. I have seen Purple Rain. I enjoyed it. I don't own the dvd but the cd I do have. I have seen Janet only once. My son was like 2 years old and he loved her song Black Cat. So, I took him to see her. I did enjoy the show. I got to see Marvin once in Tarrytown, New York. That was a good show. Now I have to tell you that I am blushing at answering your question about my favorite Prince song and I am not good at Not telling the truth so, I said I would skip the first pick (I will tell you it is from the 1999 album :ox) and tell you the second. Well, LOL that wasn't any better (lol its from the Purple Rain album :ox lol) so I will tell you the 3rd favorite LOL. I hope you don't get mad at me for that. :o( Ok so I will hope and assume you won't mind and I will tell you my 3rd favorite and we will just say it's my public favorite.. Yeah, lol that'll work... Ummm its from his new cd and it's called What do you want me to do. I think it is a testament to his character. He has upped his moral standards and I respect that tremendously. It's not always easy to do being human. And may be one of the hardest things he will ever do. But it makes life richer and the boundaries set a standard that honors the one you love and vice versa. But I know everyone doesn't feel that way and I am not judging anyone who doesn't. I respect everyones opinion. I am from the United States. Where are you from? Also, what are some of your other favorite songs. Not necessarily that the artist is a favorite, just the song. Not including Michael or Stevie because they ARE the best and have the best songs so...far far outside of them... I like My my my by Johnnie Gill and Sensitivity by Ralph Tresvant. As for females, I like Britney Spears song I'm a Slave ( I love the video awesome) I love Syreeta Wright(Wonder * she was Stevies first wife and a beautiful woman as well as singer, I love her even in her absence) I love her song Born Again... I think I'll go play it. What is your all time favorite song of his and then what is your favorite song on his new cd? David Harrison Levi (11/03/2005 20:53) It was a nightmare of magnitude porportions, for the sleepy and the music and noise blarring from the front and back doors, didn't exactly make us very popular with residents. The crowds grew as the restaurant got notoriaty from radio stations and their DJs coming in late night. I did a 1 hour radio interview with Rodney Binginheimer on Rodney on the Rock from KROQ, we invited everyone listening to join us, for the 24 hour party we served up, daily. As we grew in popularity, so did the menu. Larry had created dishes, about 400. There was really nothing, You couldn't get. The menu had it all, from soup to nuts, and YES we had lots of nuts, at that hour of the morning! After I had moved on to Chippendales, once again, Larry met Debbie applying for a waitress position, and the rest was diner history. They married IN the diner, in front of witnesses' dining on meatloaf and barbequed chicken. Through the 80's and 90's Larry got an idea to flood the surrounding cities with bus bench ads, and there was no driving anywhere in California, that You would see a bus bench without the mass advertising campaign, larry applied to the restaurant. He must have had two million dollars in script (free food coupons)that he used in barter to acquire bus bench ads. As time was passing, Larry and Debbie had two son's and the diner was going on its almost seventeen years (17) in business. I had opened two galleries across the street, dealing in TV film, music and sports memorabilia and collectibles. The diners location today is Chin Chin Restaurant, My family retired, and closed its doors to the famous liquor company they founded, and I closed my galleries in January of 2002. It was quite a ride. Almost anyone who dined with us, truly misses the excitement, the stars, the food, Jaime my Royal Standard Poodle (the diner dog) certainly Larry and Debbie, and NOT missed was the noise, the car alarms, the customers loud voices and the over the top ear piercing music that filled the early morning streets of Beverly Hills. When You say 24 Hour Diner in Beverly Hills,it brings back the memories of once was The Beverly Hills Diner!... Remember; Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. See You soon & hope You enjoyed going down memory lane with me! Life is short, EAT DESSERT 1st! David Harrison Levi itsmr5012u@aol.com I welcome ANY responses. Feel free to Email me and post Your own memories of the diner! David Harrison Levi (11/03/2005 20:59) The Beverly Hills Diner aka Larry Parker's Diner Beverly Hills -- David Harrison Levi The Beverly Hills Diner aka Larry Parker's Diner in BEVERLY HILLS -- What happened to it???? Truly one of the greatest and most successful diners of all-time, Larry Parker's Diner located at 206 South Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, California 90212. With an overwhelming acceptance on the part of celebrities, sports figures and influential business and entertainment personalities, the diner, opened in August 1982, as The Beverly Hills Amusement & Dining Experience, a name that was way to long as my vintage 1960 Silver Cloud I Rolls-Royce limosine. However, it was fun watching the many cashier's trying to say the name over the loud piercing and blarring music and videos in that surrounded you from the time You entered the restaurant. We had some very fortunate opening experiences that led to the diners success. Larry being a former restauranteur in other business' brought his experience and my forte was in entertainment and nightclubs. We were the perfect blend for such a redicoulous idea, as city officials told us. "You can't make money selling food after 3:00 PM on Beverly Drive! GOOD LUCK!?" Telephones at each table? WHY? Larry introduced me to BIG FAT and JUICY BBQ RIBS, and I introduced him to the Beverly Hills community. My Mom and Dad owned the world-famous Beverly Hills Liquor Castle next door and I was head of the original "Chippendales" nightclub in Los Angeles. Newly opened across the street were two attorneys calling their new restaurant California Pizza Kitchen, which became their 1st of many locations, and later partnered up with Pepsi Cola. Larry's background was in fast foods and yogurt stores. We had both attended Beverly Hills High School, and we had many mutual friends. The waiting lines from day one were a block long. EVERYONE wanted a seat at the newly founded diner. We had security guards and velvet ropes, as any popular nightspot, and we kept that premise. Everybody was our friend, and we got accustomed to the many regulars that used are names, to get a front row seat, for all the late night action. As Larry spun the records and I greeted the throngs of customers,as the waitresses served up the specials in their 50's diner garb, and our delivery people on roller blades. It was truly a whos-who that came at all hours to take-out or eat in. Stevie Wonder, Muhammod Ali, Drew Barrymore, Desi Arnaz Jr., Mickey Rourke, Rodney Binginheimer, Paul Fegan, Billy Hensche, Buzz Aldrin, Norman Brokaw, Shaquille O'Neil, The Lakers, The Clippers, Magic "Earvin" Johson, Jim Brown, anybody and everybody ended up breaking bread at the diner! From Rock Stars to Rappers, From Real Estate moguls to the kids from the block, We were a HIT! The city certainly didn't make it easy, as there was NO PARKING after 2:00 AM so it took some getting use to from the many local neighbors. It was a nightmare of magnitude porportions, for the sleepy and the music and... ems friend (11/03/2005 18:12) geturfunk.. I didnt mean to sound disrespectful either. One might think that the demise of Michael Jackson would allow another to seize a position vacated. I suggest that one re-think the re-thought. Michael put forth the time an effort to obtain his status in an industry that is so difficult considering every definition of difficult. This is more than can be said of some who have attained such industry access. I may be of another school of thought than most, as I would ask my white friend "how much black" still remains within his/her body, and not how much white is within me. Facts in: Michael is black. To joke about his wanting to be white, suggests that being white is beneficial and since it is so in America, such a joke is not a joke but truth. Court TV staff insist in calling Michael the "self-proclaimed" king of pop. This is only acceptable to me contingent upon the same staff making reference to Elvis as the "self-proclaimed" king of rock & roll who copied black artists. I see that someone went as far as to say that Stevie ain't all that. I appreciate and respect the comment as it is truth - Stevie is Stevie! My sentiments are that Stevie's words about the fella were mild in comparison to what Stevie could have said. If anyone can say, they cannot say like Stevie! So hello very well... . You're the same as any other of your kind that takes from my kind. Like the girl that won a grammy for a write around "seems so long"... . In a country where the maximum speed limit averages at 70 mph, why is it that our cars can exceed that limit? Over the past few days I've heard repeatedly that Michael Jackson is not in touch with reality. What is reality for Michael? Is it the same reality as your own or mine? Are you free to walk amongst the populace of any city, state or country and have a one on one conversations without invasion of your privacy? Could you handle the pressure of being humiliated in public for all to see? The price of fame(?) duh. Would you be invited to Michaels funeral? Heads up... you're killing a man who has touched you in life and has had to retain his boyish character in order to never grow old. Michael still has work to do. Leave him alone. Steve, I sat next to you at your place with Keith J. in 87. Thanks for being at my best friend's (C.A) funeral last year. We spoke briefly... I tried submitting a tune for your most recent - perhaps next time because you are not done! ME™ |
